STUDENT SERVICES TEAM
The mission of Irving & Beatrice Peskoe K-8 Center’s School Student Services is to assist all students in their quest to become productive citizens and responsible, lifelong learners through their academic development, personal and social growth, and career exploration. During this time students are learning communication and social skills, working to develop friendships, and engaging in conflict resolution. It is important to teach children effective strategies and interventions so they will continue growing into productive individuals that display good character.
As your counselors, our goal is to implement prevention, intervention, and resources to maximize each student's full potential in our school. We provide bullying prevention curriculum, values matter curriculum, as well as hosted presentations on important social and emotional topics that are relevant to our student body. We will implement interventions in the areas of academics, attendance, classroom behavior and emotional well-being. It is important that we continue to work as a student services team to identify and address the multitude of needs our students and their families may experience by providing on-going referrals to community mental health agencies, social services agencies, etc.
